GISIMOS MCDA LAND SUITABILITY MODEL FOR ECOTOURISM DEVELOPMENT

Ecotourism development planning is a multi-criteria process that generally requires spatial analysis. GISimos MCDA model developed by this study, was presented for the first time and applied to Kalecik sub-province of Ankara, Turkey determine suitable areas their suitability levels ecotourism development. The based on evaluation sub-factors representing topography, land cover, climate sociocultural characteristics region, with combination GIS revised Simos procedure, one techniques. It included series processes such as determining rates weights sub-factors, calculating Suitability Index values, overlapping them using WLC method. resulting values were categorized highly suitable, moderately marginally not areas. results study method will be helpful decision-makers planners in area similar regions.
